Town of Kitty Hawk maintains many recreational dune cross-overs within the town limits where pedestrians can access the beach.

Theses recreational dune cross-overs are designed to provide the angler and beachcomber safe access. Many areas have sufficient parking and provide an assortment of other public accommodations.

Each recreational area description will identify the parking area, handicapped accessibility, amenities and if 4-wheel drive vehicle access to the beach is permitted. The nearest cross street and its relationship to the Beach Road will be noted.

TOWN OF KITTY HAWK DOES NOT PERMIT PRIVATE OFF ROAD VEHICLES ON THE BEACH AT ANY TIME.

The following streets in Kitty Hawk are adjacent to a recreational dune crossover. All of these streets run perpendicular to the Beach Road. Most areas have parking and other recreational facilities.
