Notice of Proclamation effective 12:01 am, Monday, May 8, 2017, from the North Carolina Department of Marine Fisheries #FF-19-2017.
The NCDMF has announced the continuation of the spotted seatrout regulations dated June 9, 2014. This previous proclamation allowed the recreational anglers to harvest up to four (4) spotted seatrout at a minimum of fourteen (14″) per day.
The current proclamation does not change anything from the previous rule – FF 39-2014.
One key component of the new proclamation is letter “D” and it reads:
“All undersized or over limit spotted seatrout shall be immediately returned to the waters wherein taken, regardless of the condition of the fish”
